At this year’s Optical Interference Coatings (OIC) Topical Meeting organized by the Optical Society of America, Michael Trubetskov won four Design Contest Awards. They include three first prizes and one second prize. The design problems of this year involved a new perspective on traditional color mirrors and a wavefront sensitive application that designers face regularly. The contest takes place every three years in order to better understand the possibilities and limitations of the current state-of-the-art theory / software for optical interference coatings. The results of the Design Contest will be published in the featured issue of Applied Optics devoted to OIC 2013.
