Crazy about running: Team »Photons« starts at the Wings for Life World Run

team — Ready, set, go! Accompanied by drizzling rain on Sunday 3rd May 2015 at one in the afternoon the Wings for Life World Run started in the heart of Munich at the Olympiapark. More than 10.000 runners across the whole world have all started their run at the same time. So did the 13 Photons - the racing team from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics. Their aim was to run and race as far as possible from the Olympiapark towards the alpine upland before being caught by the organizers’ car. The excitement was guaranteed and the questions going through their minds were: How much more power do I still have left to run? Do I already hear the motor of the white Catcher Cars meaning that my run is over? At the end of the run everyone felt happy. The group of Photons, dressed in their specially designed T-shirts by Dennis Luck, were satisfied after about 331,4 kilometers of run (meaning that everyone run about 20,7 kilometers). The winners of the world race in Munich were Ingalene Hauck, who made 49 kilometers and Matthias Baur with 61 kilometers.
