    Ivan Angelov and team to take home trophy for 2014 Laser Damage Symposium Award

    team — Ivan Angelov and Coworkers at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics have won Laser Damage’s 2014 award for Best Oral Presentation at this year’s Symposium. Presented by Olga Razskazovskaya in Boulder, Colorado and titled »Ultrafast optical breakdown of multilayer thin-films at kHz and MHz repetition rates: a direct comparison«, the speech garnered significant interest from conference researchers and participants. The team’s effort and originality successfully generated significant conversation and questions from the audience. The trophy and a monetary award will be presented to the team at the 2015 Laser Damage Symposium (LDS). In the meantime, the successful article will be published in LDS’s 2014 Proceedings, to be released shortly.
